Leak detection
IGM are fully trained in non-invasive leak detection. We use the latest equipment from nitrogen gas leak detection right through to thermal imaging, protimeters, acoustic and many more.
These are non-invasive techniques and are very effective and very precise, leaving minimal damage to your property. We use these techniques to detect leaks in heating systems these are systems that are losing pressure or causing moisture damage to the property, we can also trace hot and cold water pipes, cold main inlets, mains water pipes, leaks in drainage and many others. All our procedures are recognised by insurance companies.
It is important to find the leak immediately to lessen the damage to your property. We can trace, fix and even do any repairs necessary to rectify any damage to your property. We are quite happy to discuss any of these methods with you as we find it important for you, the customer, to understand and be aware of what we are doing, as this will help with the decision making.
Our leak detection is on an hourly rate as all leaks are different as are properties, walls and flooring etc.
We have got a 100% success rate in finding the leaks and we are here and ready to take your call.
Some tools we can use to detect a leak are:
Uv dyes
Placed into your system and is detected through a blue light that is unseeable by the naked eye.
Smoke tracing
Smoke is pushed through your system or drains and can identify any issues you may have plumbing for leak detection.
Acoustic Sound
Highly sensitive microphone is used to listen for sounds on pipes and underground.
Tracer Gas
Can be pushed through heating system, water pipes etc, a harmless gas that is detected with a highly sensitive gas probe.
Thermal imaging
Detects hot and cold patches of different materials. Ie: screed plasterboard etc. Can be used for mapping out where pipes are concealed aswell as for leak detection.
Salt testing
The engineer will take a small exaple of the effected area to test for sulfates and nitrates.
Pressure testing
We can test first and second fixes to check other peoples plumbing has been insulated into new builds and check if the system has any problems before work carries on. Also for systems that are losing pressure we and dry testing.
Protimeters
Can read relative humidify in your home to help our engineer identify whether you have a leak or a DPM issue. We can also detect damp problems.
Drain dyeing
We can pute a dye into your drain to trace where the flow is going to.
